On Friday, November 4, 2011 Laura D. Benson, a five year resident of Felton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Glen Burnie. Beloved wife of Dean Benson; devoted mother of Bradley and Daniel Scott, Kierstyn, Alex, and Austin Benson; cherished daughter of Ann and Steve Harikal; loving sister of Gary Welzenbach and step brother Steve Harikal; caring daughter of Robert Welzenbach. She is predeceased by two step sisters Brenda and Dawn Harikal. Laura was a homemaker, an avid reader and enjoyed needlepoint and baking; as a matter of fact, last year she baked 72 dozen cookies using 50 pounds of flour. She played in a band and enjoyed music playing guitar; she was in the process of learning to play bass guitar. Laura loved to write and wrote like Erma Bombeck, writing stories about her children's lives. She took pride in her gardening and grew pumpkins for pumpkin pies, but, could not master the broccoli.
