John Hoefler

August 15, 1927 — September 26, 2012

John E. Hoefler, 85, a resident of Glen Burnie for 47 years, passed away on September 26, 2012. He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Max and Matilda Hoefler. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946. He retired from the B&O Railroad after 20 years of service and International Longshoreman's Association after 31 years of service. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion and Elks Lodge in Margate, Fl. He enjoyed cruising, vacations, spending time with his family casino bus trips and golfing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two spouses, Margaret Mary and Marie; and siblings, Martha Schmidt and Theodore Hoefler. He is survived by his two children, David J. Hoefler and wife Dawn and Norman J. Hoefler; and companion, Centa Meade.
