Esther Foster

Esther Mise Foster, 89, a 72 years resident of Ferndale, passed away on August 27, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Esther was born in 1923 in Pulaski, VA. She was a homemaker. Esther was a member of the Ferndale United Methodist Women's Group, where she served as worship chairperson, served on the bereavement committee, and organized many craft shows. Her hobbies included being active in the church, spending time with her family, sewing, cooking and baking, gardening, and collecting baskets. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Foster, Sr.; her son, C. Irving Foster, Jr.; and 7 brothers and sisters. She is survived by five children, Joseph H. Foster, Robert A. Foster, Esther A. Adams, Bonnie F. Strohmer, and Pamela G. Foster; three sisters, Lydia Mitchem, Bessie Bohannon, and Bernice Greene; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Ferndale United Methodist Church, 117 Ferndale Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
