Catherine P. Smith, 93, a longtime resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on November 25, 2011. She served in the United States Army during World War II and also worked on the Nordic Bomber sites. She took care of the service members from the Bataan Death March and was a Rosie the Riveter. Catherine was one of the original members of the Church of the Crucifixion. She loved to read and enjoyed roller skating and playing basketball in her younger years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, L.D. Smith, Jr. She is survived by two children, Kathleen Seitz and Luther D. Smith, III; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
