Addie Maye Sunday passed away peacefully and painlessly on January 18, 2014 at her home in Glen Burnie with family and friends at her side. She was 93. She was born to Arch and Ella Mosley on May 1, 1920 in Mineola, Texas. She loved the Lord Jesus and faithfully served him by teaching Sunday school and managing the church library at Glen Burnie Baptist Church, where she had been a member since the late 1950's. She left Texas as a teenager and found a job in Washington, DC, where she worked for the Department of Agriculture. During World War II she married Howard Sunday, a career Naval officer. Her husband died in 1980. Addie loved reading the Bible and Christian books, following current events on Fox News and supporting veterans groups and many other Christian and secular charities. She was a proud patriot. She is survived by her son, Steven Sunday; daughter, Donna Somers; grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Nick Lawson and Laura Sloman; and great-grandchildren, Jovian, Addie and Violet Sloman and J.J., Ridley and Callum Clark. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Ron Somers; grandsons-in-law, Jonny Clark and Randy Sloman and granddaughter-in-law, Tracy Lawson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their offspring. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Virginia Carol Sunday.
